Halcyon Factions

Halcyon is a medieval civilization server built around challenging old-school survival and a world shaped by its players. We’ve created a handcrafted, geologically simulated 20,000 × 20,000 map with distinct biomes, regional crops, and no teleportation. Travel matters: players build roads, waystations, and underground railways, while local resources make trade and cooperation essential.

Choose a banner, found a faction, and help build a city, fortress, or settlement with custom ranks, permissions, and sub-areas. Our Lands-based faction system supports player-driven politics, alliances, and diplomacy. Conflict can mean PvP, theft, sieges, or assassination, but rules protect builds from griefing and destruction. Medieval warfare also gives captives, ransom, and reputation a place alongside strength in battle.

We slow progression to make discovery and specialisation count. Nights cannot be skipped, health regeneration is limited, and enchanting, brewing, villagers, and automated farms have restrictions. Our Karma system gives honour, oaths, prayers, and curses gameplay consequences. At night, the most accursed players can become powerful monsters that cannot step into the light.

Halcyon has no extensive wiki to follow. Learn the realm through its handbook, exploration, research, conversation, and the hundreds of books players have written in-game. Visit libraries, scholars, elders, and mystics: engaging with the world’s history, politics, religion, and mysteries can bring practical advantages, not just roleplay. Optional Simple Voice Chat makes it easier to plan and connect.

We welcome players from all backgrounds and are an inclusive, queer-friendly community. Halcyon is for players aged 16 and over. We expect courteous conduct and a fair-play approach, with no cheating or harassment. Join us for deliberate survival, meaningful trade, faction politics, and emergent stories in a medieval world.
