Straight Up Survival

Straight Up is a long-running vanilla Minecraft SMP built on one persistent world. Opened in 2019, our overworld has never been wiped, preserving years of player history, established bases, discoveries, and exploration. With more than 19,000 players having left their mark, Straight Up offers a world that feels lived-in without closing off the chance to find fresh terrain.

We keep survival close to standard Minecraft: there are no land claims, no economy or currency plugins, and no teleport shortcuts such as /tpa or /home. You begin at a random location near the world center, find your own place, gather resources, build independently, and make your way through the world without convenience systems dictating the experience.

Straight Up allows PvP and griefing, with minimal rules focused on fair and stable gameplay rather than controlling how players survive. Chunk pruning helps maintain performance while keeping a healthy mix of historic areas and unexplored terrain, and optional proximity voice chat is available through the client-side Simple Voice Chat mod. Our lightweight anti-cheat limits hacked clients without getting in the way of normal Minecraft.
