A to Z ranks

A to Z ranks is a linear rank ladder where progression is spelled out as letters, starting at A and ending at Z. Your rank gates what you can do: which mines or areas you can enter, what shops pay, what enchants and kits are available, and sometimes which commands you can use. You promote by meeting the next tier requirement, most often money, with common extras like block counts, tokens, or small objectives.

It fits prison and economy servers because it turns the core loop into clear milestones: mine, sell, upgrade, rank up. Early letters teach the server economy; mid letters are where the grind becomes about consistency; late letters reward efficiency. Players start optimizing Fortune output, auto-sell and backpack setups, sell multipliers, and whatever the server uses to speed earning without skipping the ladder.

The format works socially because everyone shares the same staircase. Rank-up messages in chat matter, letters become shorthand for power and access, and competition stays friendly even without constant PvP. The flex is route quality and tempo: how cleanly you stack upgrades, how fast you move through the slow middle, and whether you can keep momentum into the expensive end.
