Convivencia
Convivencia servers treat the world as intentionally shared. You still play standard Survival: gather resources, build, explore, gear up. The difference is the goal. Progress is measured in a livable, persistent world where other people are part of the landscape, not targets to overcome.
The core loop is social Survival: crossing paths on roads, trading at a market, collaborating on a spawn town or nether hub, and maintaining public farms and infrastructure. Because players expect others to use what they build, you see more signage, mapped routes, shared utilities, and builds designed to be visited.
Moderation tends to enforce convivencia as a social contract. Griefing, stealing, and non-consensual PvP are usually shut down quickly, and claims or protected regions exist to keep projects stable. You can play solo or form a town, but your builds and choices are expected to leave the world usable for everyone.
The pace is calmer and reputation-driven. People ask before expanding into an area, label public resources, and solve disputes through staff or agreement rather than payback. If you want Survival where your base is meant to stay, be seen, and sit inside a functioning community, this is the format.
Is Convivencia basically vanilla Survival?
Mechanically it often is close to vanilla. What changes is the playstyle: shared spaces, community expectations, and rules that protect long-term builds and neighborly interaction.
What happens with PvP, raiding, and theft?
Most servers keep PvP off or limit it to duels and events. Raiding, griefing, and stealing are typically bannable because they undermine the idea of coexistence.
How are land and property handled?
Many use claims or protected regions for bases and community areas. Even without heavy protection, clear boundaries, signs, and staff-backed dispute resolution are common, with an emphasis on not blocking paths or building over someone else.
What do players do day to day?
Work on bases and towns, run shops, trade, build roads and nether links, maintain public farms, and join community projects. A lot of the fun is simply playing alongside others: mining while chatting, helping after deaths, or coordinating a build.
Do Convivencia servers include economy or roleplay?
Often, but lightly. Player-run markets and simple shop systems are common, and some servers add soft civ elements like mayors or town projects without requiring strict roleplay or lore.
