Custom raiding
Custom raiding is built around attacking player bases using server-defined tools, rules, and win conditions instead of vanilla loopholes. The core loop is consistent: scout a target, choose an approach, force entry through layered defenses, and extract loot before defenders or timers shut you down. Because the server decides what counts as a breach and which counters exist, raids lean toward planning and execution rather than pure grind or obscure mechanics.
Defense is its own progression. You will run into reinforced blocks, claims with raid states or windows, alarms, traps, and upgrades that change how long a base can be contested and how expensive it is to crack. Strong bases are designed to slow attackers and hide the real storage with choke points, decoys, and split vaults. On offense, you manage limited breach options, durability and cooldowns, and the risk of committing into a fight you cannot finish once defenders show up.
The best raids feel like a heist instead of a random grief. Information and pacing matter: who is active, where the value is, when to spend your best charges, and when to walk away. Many servers anchor raids to a clear objective, like cracking a core or dropping a shield, so both sides have something specific to contest. When it is done well, conflict becomes repeatable and readable, with wins earned through outplays across multiple attempts.
Is custom raiding basically Factions?
It shares the base warfare and rivalries, but it is usually more curated than classic Factions. Instead of every mechanic being fair game, the server sets the raid toolkit, the allowed methods, and the defensive counters so fights are easier to understand and balance.
What do raids usually target, just chests?
Loot is still the prize, but raids often revolve around a focal point. That might be a core, shield, generator, or vault rule that has to be broken first, which creates a predictable place to defend and a clear goal for attackers.
Are raids online-only or can you get hit offline?
It depends on the ruleset. Some servers push online raids with raid states, alerts, and timers. Others allow offline raiding but gate it behind higher costs, slower tools, or stronger protections. Either way, knowing what triggers a raid and when your base is vulnerable matters.
What skills actually win raids on custom raiding servers?
Scouting, resource discipline, and routing. Good raiders read defenses, bring the right kit for the expected layers, and keep an exit plan. They also know when the target is a sink and when to pivot before the raid eats their whole inventory.
How do you make a base last longer on these servers?
Build for delay and uncertainty. Layer defenses so each room costs resources, split valuables, and avoid obvious straight-line vault paths. The goal is not to be unraidable, it is to waste time, force bad choices, and make the real payoff hard to find.
