IV Training
IV Training is where Pixelmon and Pokemon-style Minecraft shifts from catching cool finds to building a team with intent. Individual Values (IVs) are the hidden stat rolls that separate a decent mon from something you can trust in close fights. Servers built around IV Training make IVs easy to read and give you a real path to improve them through breeding and earned resources, not blind guessing.
The loop is straightforward and easy to sink into: catch or breed a candidate, check its IVs, then decide whether it becomes a keeper, a parent, or a quick release. From there it turns into a pipeline. You maintain a box of breeders, chase specific spreads, and run egg cycles through daycare or ranch setups until the right numbers land.
In multiplayer, IV Training becomes a time and economy game. You farm bosses, quests, or money for breeding items, build hatch routes around your base, and trade high-IV parents to skip the worst dead ends. It ends up feeling very Minecraft: purpose-built breeding halls, player shops full of rejects and gems, and that quiet flex when your finished build starts winning benchmarks.
A server that leans into IV Training usually means battles matter. High IVs translate into cleaner KOs, surviving key hits, and less coin-flip variance when both players know what they are doing. The best setups respect your time with clear IV readouts, sensible breeding rules, and a little protection against pure RNG without handing out perfection.
What do you actually do on an IV Training server?
You pick a target Pokemon, check its IVs, then breed up better parents until you hatch the spread you want. Most sessions look like: farm the items or money that keep breeding moving, run egg cycles, sort results, and test the upgrades in PvP, gyms, or tournaments.
Do I need 6×31 IVs to be competitive?
Usually no. Most builds care most about Speed and the main attacking stat, and sometimes bulk thresholds. A perfect 6×31 is nice and can matter for certain roles, but smart spreads and team planning win more games than chasing perfection on every slot.
How do servers let you check IVs quickly?
Common options are an IV checker NPC, a command, or a clear readout in the Pokemon UI. If IV Training is a real focus, checking is fast and unambiguous so you can sort keepers from breeders without slowing the whole loop down.
Is IV Training only about breeding?
Breeding for IVs is the core, but it usually connects to the rest of competitive prep: locking a nature, finishing movesets, and fitting the server's ruleset. IV Training is the long grind that makes the final build feel earned instead of lucky.
How long does it take to build a solid team?
On servers with good IV tools, reasonable hatch speeds, and an active market for breeders, you can put together a strong team in a few focused sessions. On stricter setups, getting even one near-perfect mon can take days of breeding and resource runs.
