limited teleport
Limited teleport sits between no-TP survival and full convenience. Teleports exist, but they are constrained by cooldowns, costs, small home limits, distance rules, or situational restrictions. You still travel the map the normal way most of the time, so the world keeps its scale, but you are not locked into long commutes for every routine task.
The survival loop is the same, but travel becomes a choice with consequences. /home might mean one spot with a long cooldown. /tpa usually needs consent, may have a warm-up, and is often blocked in combat or near protected areas. Some servers only let you teleport from safe locations like spawn or a bed, so roads, nether tunnels, and public portals end up being real infrastructure instead of decoration.
Those limits also change how conflict and logistics feel, even on mostly peaceful servers. You cannot instantly reset after taking a hit, and you cannot appear anywhere on a whim, so scouting and planning matter. Practical setups start to emerge: a main home for storage, an outpost for farms, a nether route to key biomes, and a backup plan for when your cooldown is running.
What does limited teleport usually include?
Some mix of restrictions like long cooldowns, a small number of homes, costs (money, XP, items), warm-up timers, distance limits, and rules like no teleport in combat. Many servers also limit destinations to beds, spawn, or set warps instead of free hopping anywhere.
Will I still use the Nether for travel?
Usually, yes. Limited teleport servers tend to push players back toward horses, boats, and especially nether corridors because teleport is treated as a tool for planned moves or recovery, not constant movement.
How does /tpa work on these servers?
It is commonly allowed but gated: the other player must accept, there is a warm-up so it is not a mid-fight escape, and you get a cooldown after use. Some setups also block it in certain regions or dimensions.
Does limited teleport make PvP and raiding easier or harder?
Harder to force sudden fights across the map, but harsher once trouble finds you. Since you cannot always vanish or summon help instantly, positioning, escape routes, and preparation matter more than quick commands.
What should I check before joining?
Ask how many homes you get, the cooldown lengths, whether teleports cost anything, and what counts as combat for teleport blocking. Also check dimension rules and whether the server maintains a nether hub or public links, because that is where this style really comes together.
