Monthly End reset

Monthly End reset servers play like normal survival, but The End is treated as repeatable content. Roughly once a month the End dimension is regenerated: main island, outer islands, chorus areas, end cities, and loot. The Overworld and Nether usually stay intact, so bases, farms, and long builds still matter.

That one rule changes the progression rhythm. Elytra and shulker boxes are not a one-weekend land grab that stays picked clean forever. Groups time their gear, rockets, and supplies around the reset and run fresh end cities when they know the terrain has not been stripped. If you join late or miss the first rush, you are not permanently behind, because the next cycle creates another clean window.

The dragon fight becomes part of the server calendar instead of a one-time checkbox. On many servers, resets also reopen access and refresh gateways, which turns early kills into a crowded event: people showing up for first routes, quick alliances, and the occasional ambush once the outer End is in play.

It also teaches you to treat the End like a dungeon, not a home. Unless the rules explicitly protect End builds, you do not store wealth there. You go in, grab elytra and shells, and get the loot back to safety. That keeps demand steady for rockets, enchant books, and replacement gear, and it prevents one early group from locking up shulkers for the rest of the season.

The overall feel is a soft seasonal loop without losing your base. You still get recurring exploration and competition, and the economy gets a predictable refresh, but your long-term projects stay anchored in the worlds that do not wipe.

What resets when the End resets?

Typically the entire End dimension is regenerated, including end cities and their chest loot, chorus growth, and terrain. Whether player-placed blocks are wiped depends on the server, but most monthly End reset setups do a full regen so the new cycle is actually fresh.

Do I lose items when the End resets?

Anything you have moved back to the Overworld or Nether is safe. Items left in the End can be deleted by the regen, including gear stored in End chests or shulker boxes. If the server posts a schedule, smart players clear their End storage before the reset.

Does the Ender Dragon reset too?

Often yes, because it creates a clean start to the cycle and a clear way to reopen access and gateways. Some servers only reset the outer End while handling gateways differently, so check the rules if you care about first dragon kills or gateway availability.

Why do servers do monthly End resets?

To keep Elytra and shulkers from becoming a permanently exhausted resource controlled by whoever raided first. The reset keeps exploration relevant and makes End loot a recurring part of the economy instead of a solved problem.

Is building an Enderman farm worth it on these servers?

Only if you treat it as temporary or the server explicitly preserves End builds. Most players put long-term farms in the Overworld or Nether and use the End for short, high-value runs between resets.
