no anchors
No anchors means respawn anchors cannot be used, and on many servers they are disabled entirely. In vanilla, anchors can be charged with glowstone and will explode if used in the Overworld or End, giving players a compact, instant blast they can trigger at their feet or around a corner. This format removes that lever, so combat leans back toward sustained damage and decision-making: winning trades, using cover, controlling distance, and managing heals instead of fishing for a single detonation.
The clearest impact is in tight spaces. Doorways, stairwells, and small rooms stop being constant anchor-bait zones where one step too far ends a push. Base fights become more legible, with fewer sudden wipes and more emphasis on holding angles, blocking routes, and coordinating pushes. In open-field PvP, removing anchors reduces swingy comebacks from point-blank blasts, which makes positioning and timing matter more than surprise burst.
It also changes the Nether in a practical way. Respawn anchors normally act as the Nether respawn tool, so a no anchors ruleset often turns Nether routes into higher-commitment runs where deaths cost time and momentum. Players plan travel more carefully, bring materials to secure portals, and move with teammates when it matters.
