No Factions

No Factions servers remove the faction layer entirely. There is no formal faction system defining territory, power, allies, raid rules, or a progression loop built around faction bases. You join as an individual player, not as a unit in a server-wide war framework.

The social game still exists, just without the interface and rulebook. People team up through trust, shared builds, and proximity: a few friends living together, neighbors trading, rivals clashing over resources. Coordination happens in chat or Discord, and your reputation matters more than faction tags or claimed borders.

With claims-as-politics and raid incentives out of the way, the focus usually shifts toward long-term survival play: farms, nether routes, shops, infrastructure, and big builds that feel worth maintaining. If PvP is enabled, it tends to be situational and player-driven, showing up around hotspots, duels, events, or personal disputes rather than organized raid cycles.

No Factions is not a promise of safety. Some servers pair it with land claiming, grief prevention, and clear anti-raid rules to support persistent builds. Others run closer to anarchy-lite with few protections, where conflict is messy and personal instead of structured. The consistent point is simple: the server is not designed around faction progression.

Is No Factions basically SMP?

Often, yes in how it plays: survival progression, building, trading, and small groups. The difference is that No Factions can still include economy, claims, or PvP, it just avoids a dedicated faction framework.

Can players still form teams?

Yes. Groups are usually informal and trust-based: shared bases, resource runs, or temporary alliances. Some servers add conveniences like /tpa or parties, but they do not turn that into faction territory control.

Does No Factions mean no claims or build protection?

No. Many servers avoid factions but still offer land claiming, container locks, or staff rollback to protect builds. Others intentionally keep protections minimal, so it is worth checking the server rules and plugins.

What should I expect from PvP on a No Factions server?

PvP may be off, on, or limited, but it is usually not tied to territory wars and raid scoring. Expect PvP to be optional or localized: duels, events, Nether travel routes, End access points, or disputes over resources.

Who tends to prefer No Factions servers?

Players who want survival and building without faction politics, claim wars, and raid schedules. It also suits groups that want to stay independent and progress at their own pace without being pulled into a server-wide conflict meta.
