Paldea

Paldea servers put you in a Pokemon style open world inspired by Scarlet and Violet. Instead of being pushed down a single route, you move because the terrain pulls you: a new coastline, a ridge line, a town in the distance, a biome known for a specific spawn. The loop is simple and constant: travel, battle, catch, restock, then head back out with a new target.

Progress is usually built around Paldea’s three-lane structure: gyms for badges, Titan style boss fights, and Team Star style camp battles or equivalents. Most servers let you approach these in different orders, so your team grows around what you choose to chase rather than what a quest chain dictates. Good Paldea worlds make the map matter, with vertical routes, risky pockets of strong spawns, and landmarks that become natural meeting points.

The feel is half solo adventure, half shared expedition. Players group up to sweep an area, trade callouts for rare spawns, and meet in towns to heal, shop, and battle. Even with extra systems like tournaments or custom quests, the core stays the same: roaming a big region, building a team over time, and picking your next challenge based on what the world is serving right now.

Do Paldea servers need Pixelmon or Cobblemon?

Usually, yes. Paldea is most often delivered through a Pixelmon or Cobblemon setup plus a region map and spawn config. Always match the server’s required modpack and Minecraft version.

Is Paldea progression actually open, or still gated?

It is open in order, but not always open in power. You can often choose which gyms, bosses, or camps to tackle first, but servers may gate perks, travel, or areas behind badges, ranks, or quest milestones.

What is the main reason to pick a Paldea world over other regions?

Exploration. Paldea maps tend to lean on scale and verticality, so spawn hunting and travel feel like a real trek. Players end up learning locations by memory: where certain types cluster, where strong encounters sit, and which towns are best as a home base.

How do Paldea servers handle travel time?

Most keep towns as hubs with healing and shops, then add some form of fast travel like warps, ride points, or unlockable travel nodes. The goal is to keep roaming meaningful without turning every errand into a long run.

Can you enjoy Paldea without PvP or competitive battling?

Yes. Many players treat it as a collection and journey server: building a team, filling a dex, hunting variants, and clearing gyms and bosses at their own pace. PvP is often an optional layer rather than the main requirement.
