sethomes
Sethomes survival is the kind of server where you save a personal location with something like /sethome, then jump back later with /home. It seems minor until you play it. The whole pace changes: you log in, return to your base immediately, and spend your time actually doing projects instead of repeating the same spawn to base commute.
The loop shifts from relocating to building a network. You push out to find what you need, then turn distance into convenience by anchoring it with a home. One home stays at your main base, another sits on villagers, another at a farm or a rare biome. That freedom makes outposts and long-running builds feel practical, so worlds sprawl in a way that still stays connected.
It also refocuses risk. Death and mistakes still matter, but the punishment is less about a long run and more about whether you can recover your gear, manage cooldowns, and choose when to bail out. A good sethomes server keeps exploration meaningful with limits like a small home count, teleport warmups that break on damage, and cooldowns. The best setups respect players time without turning travel into a free escape button.
How many homes can you usually set?
It varies by server. One home is common on tighter survival, while 2 to 5 is typical on community-focused worlds. Some servers split limits by world, so your Overworld and Nether homes are counted separately.
Is /home an instant escape in PvP?
Usually not. Many servers add a warmup and cancel the teleport if you take damage, move, or get flagged in combat. That keeps fights honest and stops /home from replacing positioning and planning.
Do set homes survive a reset or new season?
Most of the time, no. World resets commonly wipe saved homes along with the map. Even when player data is kept, homes may be cleared to avoid sending players into unloaded or changed terrain.
How is sethomes different from /spawn, /tpa, or warps?
/spawn is a shared return point, warps are server-chosen destinations, and /tpa depends on other players. Sethomes is personal infrastructure: you decide what places matter and you build your routine around them.
Can you set a home in the Nether or The End?
Depends on the rules. Some servers allow it, others block it, and some add longer cooldowns there. Nether homes especially can compress travel so much that servers often restrict them to keep progression and exploration paced.
