Shiny tiers

Shiny tiers are how Pokemon-style Minecraft servers rank shiny creatures by rarity and demand, then turn that ranking into an economy and a set of long-term goals. Instead of every shiny being treated the same, they are grouped into tiers that signal how hard they are to obtain on that server and how much players want them for collecting, trading, or status.

That tier list becomes a shared language. Lower-tier shinies move as add-ons or bulk trade currency, while top-tier shinies anchor deals and set prices. Servers usually tie the rankings to real availability: spawn pools, encounter methods, event rotations, and other sources that decide what can realistically be hunted versus what only appears in narrow windows.

The gameplay loop follows the tiers. Some players farm consistent, lower-tier shinies to build value, then consolidate into a few mid-tier pieces and finally one high-tier target. Others plan around event timing, saving resources and playtime for periods when a normally scarce line is actually obtainable. Even if you never trade, tiers still tell you whether a hunt is a weekend project or a long commitment.

Shiny tiers also shape culture. Collection milestones are often organized by tier, trade chat uses tier shorthand to keep negotiations fast, and giveaways rely on tier expectations so everyone understands the stakes. When the list is maintained well, shinies feel less like isolated lucky rolls and more like a living server economy.
