VanillaSMP is for players who want a real vanilla Minecraft experience. We run the official minecraft-server.jar with no plugins and no datapacks.
There is no fancy, confusing spawn and no long list of rules to read before you can play. Players are expected to handle their own social issues, and you are free to play how you want, build what you want, and explore the game as it was designed. Technical minecrafters are welcome.
We stay on the latest stable vanilla jar and host the server on a purpose-built, self-hosted machine. This is not for everyone, and many players may be better suited to semi-vanilla servers, but if you want true vanilla with all of its quirks and challenges, you will feel at home here.

How to join
Copy the server address below, open Minecraft, then add it in your server list.
- Open Minecraft.
- Go to the servers or multiplayer screen.
- Add a server or use an option like Direct Connection or Add External Server.
- Paste this server address into the address field: vanillasmp.net
- Save or confirm, then join the server.
