BareBonesMP Vanilla SMP with Hardcore Plus Hearts

Welcome to BareBonesMP, a Minecraft community founded in 2019 and built around that classic server feel. We run a close knit, whitelisted vanilla SMP that many players compare to a hermitcraft-like experience, with weekend events and monthly mayor elections.
We also offer a Hardcore Plus server with a punishing but fair health system: each death removes one heart down to a minimum of 3 hearts. You can craft Heart Crystals using an echo shard and a diamond block to restore hearts. Heart Crystals can also overheal you up to 20 hearts; any hearts above 10 are temporary and disappear as you take damage.
Gameplay stays essentially vanilla with no teleport commands and block damage enabled, including fire spread and creeper explosions. Stealing and griefing are not allowed.
Optional features include proximity voice chat, cross Discord and in game text chat, quality of life enhancing tweaks, statistic leaderboards, and an optional cozy modded and unwhitelisted server. The map was reset on Aug. 10th 2025.

How to join
Copy the server address below, open Minecraft, then add it in your server list.
- Open Minecraft.
- Go to the servers or multiplayer screen.
- Add a server or use an option like Direct Connection or Add External Server.
- Paste this server address into the address field: play.barebonesmp.com
- Save or confirm, then join the server.
