Both exist. Arena-style Clan Wars is about repeatable matches with fixed kits, maps, and clean win conditions. Survival-based Clan Wars treats war as a campaign where preparation, scouting, and pressure on resources or claims matters as much as the final fight. Hybrid servers often use survival for gearing and instanced arenas for the actual war.

Expect a call-up, a check that everyone has the agreed kit, then a coordinated engage with a shot-caller directing targets and movement. Strong clans assign roles like anchors holding space, ranged pressure, and a cleanup group to secure kills and prevent escapes. The end is usually a recorded result, payout, territory change, or ladder update.

Small formats like 3v3 and 5v5 are common for tight, mechanical fights. Larger wars like 10v10 up to 20v20+ lean into roles, substitutions, and leadership. The bigger the roster, the more the server experience depends on organization and attendance.

Not on kit-based servers, where gear is equalized and you can join quickly. In survival-based wars, gear matters, but most clans standardize member kits and supply key items. Good positioning, clean comms, and focus fire routinely outperform players relying on expensive items without coordination.

Clear rules on team sizes, allowed items, and win conditions, plus a system that supports rematches such as seasons, ladders, or tournaments. Consistent moderation is important because issues like combat logging, rule-lawyering, or alt abuse can undermine the format faster than almost anything else.
