Free for all
Free for all is PvP with no safety net. Everyone is a target, every fight is public, and the biggest threat is usually the player who waits for you to commit. It plays less like a fair duel and more like managing a crowded room: who is low, who is geared, who is circling for a clean-up.
Most free for all servers are built around fast resets. You spawn, load a kit or preset gear, sort your hotbar, and you are fighting again within seconds. The loop is simple, but streaks come from pacing. Overchase and you get cleaned. Reset early with food or a gap, break line of sight with terrain or blocks, and rotate before the area collapses on you.
Compared to duels or team modes, free for all rewards awareness first and mechanics second. Duels test consistency in controlled space. Teams reward coordination. Free for all rewards fight selection under noise: keeping your back safe, taking short engagements, and choosing positions where you can disengage without donating a kill. When you are winning, you also become the objective, and the whole arena starts playing around your health bar.
The social layer is messy on purpose. You will see opportunistic truces, baiting, and revenge loops, plus the occasional pair trying to run the map together. Whether that is allowed or punished depends on the server, but the mindset stays the same: trust nothing, read intent, and keep an exit.
