No End
A No End server runs survival with the End dimension shut off. You cannot use End portals, so there is no Ender Dragon progression, no End cities to raid, and no natural path to Elytra or shulker boxes. The game stays anchored in the overworld and nether, and late game looks more like long-term building, resource projects, and player infrastructure than a quick pivot into End loot.
The most noticeable change is travel. Without Elytra, distance has weight again. Nether hubs, ice boat tunnels, roads, rail lines, horses, and public portals become real community projects instead of optional nostalgia. Bases cluster into regions, trade routes form, and meeting people on the map happens more naturally because you cannot just fly over everything.
It also reshapes risk and economy. With no shulker-based hauling and no easy air escape, inventory space matters and supply runs feel like runs. Moving valuables through the nether becomes a strategic choice, and conflicts tend to be more grounded and positional rather than drop-in fly-bys and instant disengages.
Rules around End-adjacent items vary, but the core expectation is consistent: you are not graduating into the End. Most servers still allow Ender pearls from overworld or nether Endermen, while a few tweak pearl use or add alternatives for storage or End blocks. If those details matter to your playstyle, check the server notes, but the format is about keeping the server’s long-term life in the overworld and nether.
Can you fight the Ender Dragon on a No End server?
Typically no. If the End is disabled, the dragon fight is not part of normal progression. Some servers run occasional events or custom fights, but you should not expect dragon access by default.
Are Elytra and shulker boxes available?
Not in the standard setup. Elytra and shulkers come from End cities, so a true No End world removes that pipeline. Some servers add substitutes, but the usual experience is learning to live without both.
Do strongholds still exist, and what happens to the portal?
Strongholds usually still generate. The portal frame may be blocked, deactivated, or removed, depending on the setup. Strongholds still get used as bases or landmarks, they just stop being a progression gate.
Why do players choose No End survival?
It keeps the world from rushing into the same endgame. Travel and logistics stay meaningful, the gap between new players and veterans is smaller without Elytra, and the server tends to develop hubs, roads, and towns instead of everyone spreading out and commuting by flight.
What is the efficient travel meta without Elytra?
Nether travel. Expect linked portals, a shared hub, protected corridors, and ice boat lines for long routes. In the overworld, roads and local rail become worth the effort because they see constant use.
Does No End remove Ender pearl farming?
It removes End-based Endermen farms, but Endermen still spawn in the overworld and nether, so pearls usually remain obtainable. Any further changes, like disabling pearl teleporting or adjusting drops, are server-specific rules.
