Pets protected
Pets protected servers make tamed mobs something you can keep. Wolves, cats, parrots, horses, and other companions are shielded from player damage and typical grief fallout, so owning a pet stops feeling like a short-term gamble in a crowded world.
Most setups block other players from harming your tamed mobs, even when PvP is on. Good implementations also cover common indirect sources like explosions, fire, lava placement, and stray projectiles, especially around claims, so a raid or brawl does not delete your animals by accident.
The server atmosphere shifts fast: people bring dogs on mining trips, keep stables in town, and decorate builds with cats because the risk is manageable. It cuts out one of the most petty harassment vectors in multiplayer while leaving the rest of survival, trading, and conflict intact.
Are protected pets immortal?
Usually not. The protection is mainly against other players and grief-style damage. Pets may still die to hazards like falls, suffocation, the void, or owner-caused damage depending on the rules.
What happens to pets during PvP or raids?
Typically, pets are excluded from PvP damage sources, so you can lose a fight without losing your wolf to stray hits. Many servers also prevent explosion and splash collateral from wiping pets during a raid.
Is protection global or only in claims?
It depends. Some servers protect pets everywhere to stop wilderness harassment. Others only guarantee safety in claimed chunks to keep the outside world risky.
Can other players steal, leash, or ride my pets?
Often no. Many servers block interaction with someone else’s tamed mobs, including leashing, mounting horses, and accessing inventories, to prevent soft grief like dragging pets into hazards.
Which mobs count as pets?
Usually any owned or tamed entity the server can attribute to a player: wolves, cats, parrots, horses, donkeys, mules, and llamas are common. Some servers extend it to other companion-style mobs if ownership is tracked.
