Vein mining

Vein mining servers let you break a whole connected cluster of blocks by mining one block, most often for ores like coal, iron, redstone, and nether quartz. The loop shifts from careful strip-mining to quick clears and constant movement: you pop a find, clean it out, and get back to exploring, caving, and building instead of chipping at stone for minutes at a time.

It plays like convenience with a real cost. Tool progression still matters because durability and repair materials become the limiter, especially when a single activation can chew through an early pickaxe. Many servers also gate it behind a simple activation (sneak, specific tool) or progression (permissions, currency), which keeps it from feeling like an always-on macro and makes it a choice you opt into.

The big change is volume. Resource intake spikes, so multiplayer economies settle around bulk buying and selling, and early miners can accelerate a server’s tech level. Well-tuned setups usually add guardrails like per-use block caps, cooldowns, extra wear, or exclusions for high-impact blocks such as ancient debris. When it is dialed in, it removes grind without removing survival, and it makes shared builds and trading the center of the server instead of raw mining hours.
