WorldGuard regions

You are probably inside a protected region where build permissions are restricted. Spawn, roads, and shopping areas are common examples. If it is meant to be player owned land, you may need to claim it through the server system or be added as a member by the owner.

Region flags can block specific interactions like piston use, container access, entity damage, or crop trampling. The biggest trap is crossing a boundary: anything that moves blocks, mobs, or items across an edge can fail. If something acts weird, rebuild or test it fully inside one region and see whether hoppers, pickups, or mob killing are restricted.

PvP is often controlled per region. Safe zones around spawn and towns usually disable it, while wilderness and arenas enable it. Some servers announce region entry, but many do not, so the quickest way to confirm is the server help or info command if one exists.

Usually, yes. Moderation roles often have bypass permissions for support, disputes, and investigating grief or exploits. On well run servers, bypass is limited to a few trusted staff and used sparingly.

Owner typically means you control the region and can add or remove members. Member usually means you can build and interact, but not change settings. Many servers split interactions further, so you might be able to enter an area but still be blocked from opening containers, using redstone, or flipping switches.
