The Pen is a classic, barebones Prison server built for players who miss the older 2014-style grind. No overpowered armor, no instant-sell mines. You start simple and work your way through the ranks by mining, manually smelting, and making the risky trip through PVP zones to sell at the Commissary.
Progress doesn’t have to be one-track. Alongside the traditional mining grind, you can choose other long-term paths like a fully custom fishing system, a mob arena with boss waves, and a cookie farming bakery system with long-term quests, leaderboards, and higher-tier rewards.
Guards are an active part of life inside the prison. They protect new players, enforce contraband rules, and can send you to solitary for bad conduct. Swords and potions are illegal, and carrying them can put you in a fight with the Guards.
There are multiple ways to earn money beyond mining, including quests, bounties, parkour challenges, auctions, and running your own shop. You can rent a cell or a plot to store items, build, and grow illegal crops for high risk, high reward profit if you can avoid getting caught.
After reaching the top rank you can prestige for continued progression and rewards, and how you prestige is up to you. You can also work toward becoming a Parolee and eventually a Citizen outside the prison, with the ability to leave prison and build farms.
